About this catalog

What is listed

A station is published here when its stream address uses HTTPS and its most recent Radio Browser directory check succeeded. A station confirmed by both the directory check and this project’s own stream probe is counted in the second evidence class below. Stations are listed under their primary country as recorded in the catalog.

What is not listed yet

13,957 verified stations in the catalog have HTTP-only stream addresses. Browsers block or upgrade insecure audio on secure pages, and the upgrade fails for most of these stations, so they are held out of this version rather than listed as playable when they are not. No audio is relayed through this site: playback runs directly between your browser and the station’s server.

HLS streams

2,033 published streams use HLS, delivered as .m3u8 playlists. Safari plays HLS directly. Other browsers may not play these streams in this version, and the player reports the failure when it happens.

Geography

Country names and continent groupings come from the country reference held with the phase 0 catalog data, which follows the REST Countries dataset. A station whose record carries more than one country is listed under its first country in this version.

Updates

The site is rebuilt from the catalog as new verified stations are added. Each page carries the catalog version and the build time, so the state of the catalog at publication is on the page.
